The introduction of the Work Health and Safety Act (2011) identifies Engineers and Designers to have responsibilities in ensuring the safety of those who use the equipment they design. In particular:
Clause 35 – Managing risks to health and safety:-
A duty holder, in managing risks to health and safety, must:
- Eliminate risks to health and safety so far as reasonably practicable, and
- If it is not reasonably practicable to eliminate risks to health and safety – minimise those risks so far as reasonably practicable.
Your Engineer can lead you through the legal compliance maze.
Your Engineer applies the recommended design processes from the WHS Codes of Practice.
